Urban Cultivator, a canadian based company founded in 2010, focuses in manufacturing sustainable indoor growing appliances. Tarren Wolfe, the CEO of Urban Cultivator, started this company in hopes of finding solutions for his wife's food allergies, now the company's mission is to provide each and every family with healthy organic herbs and vegetables while reducing the world's carbon footprint. Urban Cultivator sells indoor gardens fixtures that can grow vegetables, herbs, and microgreens in any kitchen. They also sell various types of seeds and items for starting up a indoor home hydroponic farm.  S1,S2

Green Sense Farms, the largest commercial indoor farms in the United States, focuses on growing pesticides, herbicides, and GMO free foods. They grow vegetables such as basil, herbs, lettuces, microgreens and sell them directly to local grocery stores, produces companies and selected restaurants. Their products could be found in stores such as Walmart, Meijer, Testa Produce, and many more. They currently have 2 operating farms in Portage, Indiana and Shenzhen, China and is currently constructing a farm in South Bend, Indiana. Green Sense Farms’ goal is to conserve energy, reduce waste, recycle resources, as well as satisfy their consumers. They are constantly trying to develop better ways ways to grow foods indoor that reduces the amount of energy needed, reduces the greenhouse gas emission, and is able to use less water to produce the most fresh and nutritious vegetables. Lufa Farms, an agriculture and technology based company located in Montreal, Quebec, is the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse farm. They specialize in growing food, sustainably, in populated urban areas so that foods can be consumed while they are fresh and filled with nutrients. Lufa Farms was founded in 2009 by Mohamed Hage. They began the construction of the rooftop farm in 2010 and finished the building in 2013. Lufa Farms uses a hydroponic system to grow their crops which allows them to save up to 50-90 percent less water. They avoid using city supplied water instead, they use a irrigation system where rainwater is collected and wasted in the hydroponic system. Their system of growing plants allows them to harvest 120 metric tons of produce each year and all of those produce are shipped locally to homes and markets. S4

Freight Farms, founded by Brad McNamara, is a company that uses advanced technology to grow food locally. Freight Farms began by focusing on rooftop greenhouses but later shifted to growing crops in shipping containers. In 2018, they released their newest product which was a 40-foot shipping container called “The Leafy Green Machine. The Leafy Green Machine is a “farm-in-a-box” and is able to grow anything no matter what the climate is. It was designed for easy operation and is equipped with water tank and electricity. The Leafy Green Machine uses a system of hydroponics which allows users to save 90% less water. This product also prevents protection from the environment so no herbicides or pesticides are needed.
